City to Determine UMP on November 1

Jakarta Provincial Government must determine the rate of city minimum wage (UMP) on November 1 even though the meeting held by wage council faced deadlock twice.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama, admitted his side will use Government Regulation (PP) No. 78/2015 about wage to determine the UMP.

“We must determine the rate no matter what the meeting result is,” he said, Friday (10/21).

2017 UMP Refers on Government Regulation No. 78

According to him, the decision is on him. Wage council only proposes the rate.

Based on the PP, rate determination is the running UMP is added with national economic growth and national inflation.

For Jakarta is Rp 3,351.040 or 8.11 percent higher.
